Victorian Large Stationery Box, Mahogany, Great Northern Railway, Woodhall Junction/Kirkstead Station
A large mahogany stationery box with a burnt GNR sign on the bottom inside (suggesting heavy-duty usage).
Inside, there is a small sticker with a few letter abbreviations. If the facts have been connected correctly, this stationery box was used in the train station office at Woodhall Junction, previously at Kirkstead Station.
Beyond its historical significance, it is a beautiful object in very good condition. 
The box has a rich patina with some scratches around it and two cracks on the top, which do not affect the stability of the structure and are not noticeable. 
The lock and key match but are jammed and do not work.
